The Streaming Platform is Developing a Popular Game TV Series from the Creators of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent Far Cry instalment that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for embracing action and madness with the same excitement, all while telling gripping, politically driven stories. No wonder then that FX's new order for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two visionaries whose projects have represented all of those elements.

What to Expect

Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game franchise, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' style by having a different location and cast of characters in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as executive producers on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also feature in the show, but at the time of writing, we do not know what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for a second instalment, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Getting to work with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly accommodating, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX family constantly supports me with their steady trust and backing.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology series. Each game is a take of a theme, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” noted Hawley. “To create a big action show that can shift from season to season, while always delving into the nature of humanity through this multifaceted and turbulent lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and introduce our common unconventional, daring sensibility to the audience.”

A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
